Accessibility for Everyone

This talk is heavily inspired by Laura Kalbag’s book of the same title. While the talk offers a compilation of various authors and resources, I do not want to hide the fact that Laura’s book was one of the first ones I consulted. I thought about changing the name of my talk several times, as I don’t want to pass her work as my own, but decided to keep it as I find it brilliant and just give her the credit she absolutely deserves. So thank you, Laura.

The talk is meant for all audiences, developers, designers, product managers, directors, marketing specialists, etc. The topics covered include:

  • What is accessibility?
  • Why do we need to make our products accessible?
  • Types of disabilities
  • What is WCAG?
  • Accessibility principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust.
  • Tips and resources to advocate for accessibility and start championing its principles and guidelines in your own practice.
